Jonathan Diorio
Local artist Jonathan (Johnny) Diorio will run Raku Sculpture Workshops throughout the day. Ceramic tiles created by raku firing - all for free! Johnny will give you a pre-made relief tile, which you will work on and glaze. The tiles will then be taken up to 1000 degrees in a specially made Raku kiln. At the right moment your tile will be pulled out of the kiln and reduced in sawdust to produce a vibrant and unique memento for you to take home. 'Johnny' Diorio, one of the celebrated New Greenham Artists, will light his raku fire kiln in Victoria Park on Sunday 28th May. He will take the ceramic tiles made by visitors to his workshop and dip them in and out of the flames to fire them in the distinctive raku finish for which he is famed. |

This is only one of the many activities girls and young women across the area take part in every week through Girlguiding. Read more about Girlguiding and come along and meet some of them at their gazebo in Victoria Park.
