Senior Dancer competition
Is dancing your thing? This is a fabulous opportunity to show off your slick moves.
Venue
Sunday 27 May 1.30pm, The Corn Exchange, Market Place, Newbury
Judges will be looking for:

Competition rules
- Competitors must be secondary school age at the time of the competition (i.e. 11-18yrs)
- Competitors may dance a solo piece of up to three and a half minutes (music will be faded after this)
- Competitors may choose their own material, which may be modern, jazz, tap, ballet or any other style
- Competitors may choose to dance unaccompanied
- Competitors may dance a piece choreographed by themselves, or others, but they will not receive extra marks for the choreography being their own
- Competitors may dance to a CD. A sound system will be provided. Competitors must mark clearly on the CD their name and phone number and the number of the track to be played
- Props and costume may be used, but are not compulsory. Any props or costumes must be provided by the competitors and taken away after use
- Material used must be non offensive regarding subject matter and language
- Dances will be performed on the large Corn Exchange auditorium stage
- Three judges and a small rolling audience will watch the performances
- Winners of all competitions will be decided on the day and awarded their trophies on the Victoria Park bandstand at 5pm
- Neither West Berkshire Council nor Newbury Fringe Festival will take responsibility for the supervision of competitors. Parents and guardians may accompany their children and be part of the small rolling audience
